Davenport Surgical Group consists of seven Board Certified General Surgeons. Our physicians combine skill and experience in providing compassionate treatment in general surgical conditions.
Our practice is located at Suite 3020 1228 E Rusholme St, Davenport, Iowa, 52803. It is directly across from Genesis East in Medical Office Building #1.
What is General Surgery?
General Surgery specializes in surgical treatment of diseases most commonly associated with the gastrointestinal system (stomach, intestines, liver, gallbladder, appendix, rectum), endocrine system,(thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, adrenal), skin and soft tissues, hernias, breast and trauma, among others.
Hospital Affiliations
We practice at Genesis Medical Center–Davenport. Dr. K. John Hartman and Dr. Douglas Khoury also practice at Genesis Medical Center–Dewitt as an outreach service of Davenport Surgical Group. Dr. Joseph Lohmuller and Dr. Robert Harson have privileges at Select Specialty Hospital.
Our physicians also maintain surgical privileges at Spring Park Surgery Center and Mississippi Valley Surgical Center.
Surgical Education at DSG
The DSG physicians serve as instructors in surgery for the Genesis Family Medical Residency Program, teaching residents in the area of surgical diseases. Two surgeons have academic appointments at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. Dr. Joseph Lohmuller is a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery and Dr. Michael Phelps is a Clinical Instructor in surgery. The DSG surgeons regularly teach senior medical students from the University of Iowa here in Davenport.
