Our surgeons bring a high level of expertise and training to the practice of General Surgery. We are committed to providing high quality care in a compassionate manner in order to return patients to a state of optimal health as quickly as possible.
One of the strongest features possessed by the surgeons of Davenport Surgical Group, PC (DSG) is their training at different residency programs, which brings a wide variety of techniques and approaches to the community. The surgeons work in a close, collaborative manner, meeting weekly to review the care of all of the patients served by the group.
The DSG surgeons have remained at the forefront of program development and the introduction of new technology in the Quad-City area. DSG has been instrumental in the development of the Kenneth H McKay Center for Breast Health, in collaboration with area radiologist and Genesis Medical Center, as well as the Genesis Trauma Program and the Center for Weight Management. In addition, DSG surgeons serve in leadership positions in the Genesis Comprehensive Community Cancer Program - accredited by the American College of Surgeons.
In 2005, the introduction of laparoscopic techniques for Bariatric Surgery was pioneered in the Quad-Cities by the surgeons at DSG. Other new technologies such as laparoscopic surgery in the early 1990's and sentinel lymph node biopsy in breast cancer and melanoma in the late 1990's were championed by the surgeons at DSG. These advances are part of the commitment that the DSG surgeons have made to their patients and their community.
